MARIANA RIVEROS ARTIST

My work is a constant observation and reflection on the passage of time and daily life, emphasising the traces left by both people and objects. Interested in the concepts of time and memory, in my work I question topics such as interpersonal relationships, habits and routines of daily life, intimate spaces, traditions and social values, and the interrelation of people with their environment. From a micro universe appear symbols, metaphors or metonyms of the big questions.

Through a mainly manual work, and from appropriations, hybridisations, installation, photography and different mixed techniques, there is a constant fusion of the digital society and the pre and post industrial.

Mi obra es una constante observación y reflexión en torno al paso del tiempo y la vida cotidiana, haciendo énfasis sobre las huellas que dejan tanto las personas como los objetos, las rutinas que cumple el ser humano, los espacios íntimos y la inter relación de las personas con su entorno.  Interesada en los conceptos de tiempo y memoria, cuestiono temas como las tradiciones, las relaciones interpersonales, los hábitos de la vida cotidiana, los valores sociales y la rutina doméstica, a partir de apropiaciones, hibridaciones y técnica mixta.  Desde un micro universo aparecen símbolos, metáforas o metonimias de las grandes preguntas. 

Mi obra aborda distintas técnicas como la pintura, instalaciones, fotografía, apropiación de objetos para luego alterarlos.  Así, mediante un trabajo principalmente manual, existe una constante fusión de la sociedad digital y la pre y post industrial.
